ゴールデンウィーク中盤、来年名古屋で開催されるスポーツ大会に関する通訳のために出張に行きました。
日頃当たり前のようにスムーズに運営されているこうした大規模イベントも、実はずっと前から水面下で様々な交渉や準備が行われているからこそだと実感させられます。
名古屋在住のオンライン通訳学校の友人にも会う事ができ、嬉しい再会となりました。
写真は合間に立ち寄った大阪関西万博での様子です。来月カルティエの「ウーマンズ パビリオン」で開催されるトークショーのオンライン通訳を担当する予定なので、実際に現地のパビリオンを訪れる事ができたのは貴重な体験でした。
I took a business trip to Nagoya during Golden week for meetings related to a major sports event scheduled to take place there next year.
Events like these often appear to run smoothly and effortlessly, but this trip reminded me just how much behind-the-scenes planning and negotiation go into making them happen long before the public ever hears about them.
During the trip, I also had the chance to catch up with a friend from my online interpreting school who now lives in Nagoya. It was such a nice reunion.
The photo was taken during a quick stop at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. I’m scheduled to interpret a talk show held at the Cartier Women’s Pavilion there next month, so it was a valuable opportunity to see the actual venue in person.
