bilingual MC at the reception for the Japan Pacific Islands Defense Dialogue (JPIDD)

先日、JPIDD(日・太平洋島嶼国国防大臣会合)のレセプションにて、バイリンガルMCを務めました。

写真は、会場で通訳として居合わせた友人が撮ってくれたもの。数年ぶりの再会で、とても嬉しいひとときでした。

今年に入ってからは、防衛省や内閣府など、公官庁でのお仕事に携わる機会も増えています。普段あまり意識することのない分野ではありますが、さまざまな視点から国の未来を支えている方々の存在を、現場で改めて感じています。

I recently had the opportunity to serve as a bilingual MC at the reception for the Japan Pacific Islands Defense Dialogue (JPIDD).

The photo was taken by a friend who was also there as an interpreter.  We hadn’t seen each other in years, so it was such a nice reunion.

So far this year, I’ve been getting more opportunities to work with government institutions like the Ministry of Defense and the Cabinet Office. 
It’s not something I usually think about in my daily life, but being on site really reminds me of how many people are working behind the scenes, from different perspectives, to support the country’s future.
