ゴールデンウィークは、東京国際ユーススポーツ大会で式典通訳のお仕事でした。
東京オリンピック招致をきっかけに16年前に始まったこの大会も、Jヴィレッジに会場を移してから5年目。
気づけば、選手たちと自分の子どもが同年代になっていることに驚かされます。
ユース世代のうちに国際試合を経験できる、貴重な機会だと改めて感じました。
During Golden Week, I worked as an interpreter for the ceremony at the Tokyo International Youth Sports Tournament.
Originally launched 16 years ago in connection with Tokyo’s Olympic bid, the tournament is now in its fifth year at J-VILLAGE.
Before I knew it, many of the athletes had become the same age as my own children, which was quite moving to realize.
It reminded me once again how valuable it is for young athletes to experience international competition at such an early stage in their lives.
